About the 2nd Annual 100 Mile Diet Challenge
Why join the 100 Mile Diet Challenge?
How to Get Started
• Find your
100 mile radius. Go to http://www.100milediet.org/map/ and
draw a circle with a 100 mile radius
around your house
• Plan your meals
using only food grown and produced locally, making exceptions for anything you can't live without (coffee, tea, chocolate...)
• Join
the challenge- try it for one day or
one meal if you’re not ready for
a whole month
• Tell
us about your experience with the 100 Mile
Diet on the Times Union Eat Local blog
What Will We Be Doing?
• Posting a list of where to buy foods grown within
100 miles of the Albany area
• Promoting
area restaurants that serve locally
grown and produced foods
• Linking to the Times Union Eat Local blog so
you can report your experience with
the 100 Mile Diet
• Speaking
about the 100 Mile Diet, food, energy and
the
environment (contact Cheryl
Nechamen
at cheryl@farmandfood.org to learn more about
our speakers bureau)
